Effects of different Artificial Lights
Blue Light
According to studies, blue light or light with short wavelengths has been proven to suppress melatonin production the most, therefore being one of the most dangerous artificial lights. One source of blue light is electronics. They emit blue lights, therefore one reason that you can feel deprived of sleep is through sleeping with electronics on. Another source is with night lights that emit blue light. Similar to electronics, they can also help suppress melatonin production.
Regular LIght
Other studies have shown that even exposure to regular room lighting have been proven to disrupt melatonin production also. One study conducted especially emphasized that even one hour of exposure to a room with a bright light can have negative impacts even low intensities of light can have strong impacts if exposed to for a long period of time.
Red, Orange light
Research proves that red and orange lights are the least harmful lights. They are considered neutral, and will not affect melatonin production in your body.
